FMCSA Regional Declaration for States Affected by Hurricane Florence Including NY

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration late Monday issued Regional Emergency Declaration 2018-007 providing an exemption from Parts 390 through 399 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations in 11 Southern and Mid-Atlantic states likely to be affected by Hurricane Florence.

The states include Pennsylvania, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia and the District of Columbia.

The Declaration provides for regulatory relief for commercial motor vehicle operations while providing direct assistance supporting emergency relief efforts transporting supplies, equipment, fuel and persons into and from the Affected States and jurisdictions or providing other assistance in the form of emergency services during the emergency in Affected States and jurisdictions from Hurricane Florence.

The Declaration remains in effect during the duration of the emergency or until 11:59 p.m. October 10, 2018, whichever is less.
